Aditya Jyot Zeiss BIOM Wetlab
Vitreoretinal surgery has seen a sea of change in the last 2
decades. The results of vitreous surgery too are excellent because of better
instrumentation, technique, expertise. Wide Angle viewing system is one of the
armamentarium of the Vitreo retinal surgeon. It not only makes his life easier
but also improves quality of surgery and reduces operating time.
Unfortunately many VR surgeons still use contact lens because of lack of
training in wide-angle system.
Aditya Jyot Eye Hospital Pvt. Ltd. with Carl Zeiss announces the first of its
kind Wetlab for training on Binocular Indirect Ophthalmomicroscope (BIOM).
It is equipped with Zeiss Microscope; BIOM lll; SDI; VR instruments and animal
eyes; Vitrectomy machine.
The course will be for 3 days where in the candidate will get hands on expose
on animal eyes with all the above equipment. He will be allowed to see the
surgeries at Aditya Jyot Eye Hospital Pvt. Ltd. using BIOM and can learn from
their for use of BIOM.
The course fees will be Rs. 10,000/- for 3 days. Demand Draft in favor

We also wish to keep this Wetlab open for other candidates especially
postgraduates who wish to learn various techniques like making incisions,
suturing techniques; CCC on animal eyes before they begin operating on
patients.
We feel this will improve their surgical skills; and reduce complication when
they actually operate in patients.
The course fee will be Rs. 3000/- for 3 days.
The candidates will have to take care of their accommodation, travel and food.
Rules: The candidate is expected to follow all the
rules and the regulations of the hospital. He/she is expected to attend all the
regular teaching programmes of the hospital. He/ she can use the hospital
library, but will not be allowed to issue books out of the library.

Aditya Jyot Zeiss Laser Training Programme
Course Curriculum:
Two Courses will be offered:
Course A: 10 Days
Course B: 1 month
The candidate will have an option regarding the course he wishes
to choose.
The one-month course would be most ideal in terms of time and exposure that a
candidate needs to get in medical retina. But since there are many
practitioners who will not be able to spare a month of their practice, a 10-day
course has also been offered.
Course A - 10 Days
1. First 3 days: Theory lectures and practical
demonstrates of FFA/ICGA/OCT its interpretation. Assessment of candidate's
skill in slit lamp Biomicroscopy and indirect Ophthalmoscopy. To observe
consultants performing Laser.
2. Days 4 - 10: Hands on Laser Slit Lamp + Indirect Ophthalmoscopy.
Course B - 1 month
1st Week: Theory lectures on basics of Laser and Fundus
Fluorescein Angiography (FFA), examination of patients in OPD. At the end of 1
week, the candidate will be assessed of his/her skills and knowledge and
expertise in indirect ophthalmology, Biomicroscopy and use of fundus contact
lens.
2nd Week: Observation with the consultant. Towards the end of 2nd week,
they will be allowed to use the laser.
3rd Week: The candidate will perform independent PRP, Sector PRP, fill
in PRP, under observation. The candidate may be allowed to use the indirect
Laser Ophthalmoscope also.
4th Week: Independent lasers and macula lasers depending on candidate's
capability.

Vitreoretinal surgery has seen a vase change

techniques involved in the surgery requires adequate training of a vitro
retinal surgeon unfortunately there are very few institutes that offer short
term hands on training program for these young and budding surgeons.
Aditya Jyot Eye Hospital Pvt. Ltd. announces a vitro retinal Wet lab.
It is equipped with Microscope; vitrectomy machine; VR instruments and animal
eyes;.
The course will be for 3days wherein the candidate will get hands on exposure
on animal eyes. He/She will be allowed to observe surgeries conducted by well
experience and senior vitro retinal surgeon at Aditya Jyot Eye Hospital Pvt.
