Prof. Dr. S. Natarajan is a 3rd Generation Ophthalmologist, currently President of All Ocular Trauma Societies in the world, & “a pioneer in Vitreo – Retinal Surgery in India”. His Late father Prof.Dr. N. S. Sundaram & Grandfather Dr. Nataraja Pillai were respected ophthalmologists in Tamilnadu.
He is considered an authority in Vitreo Retinal Surgery in the world and is keenly involved in academics & research for prevention of blindness. Aditya Jyot Eye Hospital was established in 1990 by Prof. D. S. Natarajan at Dadar & has expanded into a Hospital at Wadala in the heart of Central Mumbai.

She received her medical degree from Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore. Following this, she completed her DNB ophthalmology followed by long term fellowship in Paediatric ophthalmology, Strabismus and Orthoptic disorders from the reputed Sankara Nethralaya, Chennai.
She is also a Fellow of the prestigious Royal College of Surgeons and Physicians (Glasgow). She had the privilege of working in various premiere colleges and ophthalmology institutes like LTMC Sion Hospital, MM Joshi eye Hospital Hubli.
She is passionate about teaching undergraduate, postgraduate ophthalmology and optometry students. She nurtures special interest in the diagnosis and management of paediatric neuroophthalmic disorders, various strabismic disorders in all age groups, nystagmus, paediatric low vision and various binocular vision anomalies.
She has several publications to her credit and has written chapter in national ophthalmology textbook. She has presented papers and posters at various conferences.
Over and above she is a very compassionate person combined with apt skills for examining children and their further treatment.

Dr. Kavita Rao is the Director, Cornea, Cataract and Refractive Centre at the Aditya Jyot Eye Hospital, she is a part of the team since a decade and is one of the most senior surgeons of the institute. Having operated many VIP and Celebrities.
She has done a long-term fellowship in Cornea at the Cullen Eye Institute, Baylor College of Medicine, U.S.A where she trained exclusively in the latest advances in Cornea, LASIK and Refractive Surgery.
Prior to that, she honed her skills with a long term fellowship in Cornea and Anterior Segment at the distinguished L.V.Prasad Eye Institute, Hyderabad. She has trained in advanced phaco and cataract surgery techniques at the Sankara Nethralaya Hospital, Chennai. She received the University Gold Medal for the best student in ophthalmology at the K.E.M hospital Mumbai.
She is a skilled surgeon proficient in Microphaco Phaco Surgery, Femto or Bladeless Cataract Surgery without stitches in routine and complex cataract surgery with premium intraocular lenses having performed thousands of cases successfully. She has performed a vast number of conventional corneal transplants as well as the sutureless corneal transplants (DSEK/DMEK) and lamellar DALK surgery.
She specializes in advanced Keratoconus management with corneal crosslinking, INTACS, Topo guided PRK having trained internationally for the procedure. She is proficient in all refractive surgeries namely, LASIK/ Bladeless or FEMTOLASIK/ SMILE/ PHAKIC IOL. A tailor-made, a bespoke approach is used by her while treating each patient to achieve optimum results. She has set up a state of the art Dry Eye Clinic at the hospital for Dry Eye patients. She is an expert in limbal stem cell transplants in patients with chemical injuries. After completing his medical graduate and postgraduate study in Ophthalmology from Medical collage Baroda, Dr.Vimal Fudnawala has completed his fellowship in Clinical Neuro-Ophthalmology from Sankara Netralay in 2009 and taking care of Neuro-Ophthalmology services at the institute since then.
Dr. Vimal is treating the spectrum of diseases of visual as well as ocular motility pathways. He has expertise in the management of diseases of optic nerve like inflammation, demyelination, ischemic, toxic, nutritional, hereditary, infiltrate, traumatic, compressive optic neuropathies. He also does the diagnosis of haemopathies, retrochiasmal visual pathway diseases of various etiological and manages those diseases in conjugation with Radiologist, Neurophysician and Neuro-Surgeon. He also manages problems of ocular motility like double vision, Ocular motor nerve Palsies, ocular myasthenia, blepherospasmsetc. He also aids in the diagnosis of diseases of ocular fixation like Nystagmus of various aetiology.He is actively involved in Multicentric studies have published articles in state, national and international journals and regularly participating in state and national conferences.

He received his medical degree from Maharashtra University of Health Sciences in 2007. Following this, he completed his residency training in ophthalmology from SankaraNethralaya in Chennai, India. Dr. Akshay Nair underwent two fellowship training programs in Oculoplastic Surgery, ocular oncology and facial aesthetics at L V Prasad Eye Institute, Hyderabad and New York Eye & Ear Infirmary of Mount Sinai, USA.
He is academically inclined and he serves as a reviewer for over 20 journals. Dr. Akshay Nair is a prolific author and has over 70 peer-reviewed publications in PubMed indexed journals; 10 book chapters and has over 100 presentations at various scientific meets and forums.
He has been awarded the best paper in Neuro-Ophthalmology at the All India Ophthalmological Conference in 2011; Kanthymathy Nathan Gold Medal for the best resident at Sankara Nethralaya in 2011. Other laurels include ‘Best Poster Award’ at the American Academy of Ophthalmology Meet in 2013 at New Orleans. His areas of special interest are ocular surface and eyelid tumours, ocular trauma, ophthalmic imaging and oculofacial aesthetics including dermal fillers and botulinum toxin. He loves the music of A R Rahman and relaxes by playing the tabla. He enjoys watching Formula-1 and has covered F-1 professionally for The Telegraph newspaper of Kolkata in the past. Dr. Hitesh R Sharma has done his M.S. in Ophthalmology from Institute of Medical Sciences at Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi. He has done his fellowship in Medical retina and Uvea from the prestigious SankaraNethralaya, Chennai under the guidance of world-renowned Uvea specialists like Prof. Jyotirmay Biswas. He has some good publications to his credit and has written many chapters in national and international Ophthalmology textbooks. He has presented various papers and posters at various conferences.
His clinical practice includes various uveitic conditions like anterior, intermediate, posterior uveitis, panuveitis, ocular tuberculosis, retinal vasculitis/eale’s disease, retinitis, sarcoidosis, VKH, ocular conditions related to juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA) and rheumatoid arthritis (RA), scleritis/episcleritis and ocular conditions related to HIV/AIDS. He has a special interest in ocular tuberculosis and Vogt-Koyanagi-Harada disease.
He is an excellent cataract surgeon and has special interest and expertise in managing uveitic cataracts.
For patients, he comes across as a young, easy to approach and an extremely compassionate doctor who would go to any length to see his patients get the best treatment.
Mrs Aishwarya potnis- juvekar is handling the prosthesis & contact lens department at Aditya Jyot Eye Hospital. After finishing graduation in optometry from Aditya Jyot Institute of Optometry, she decides to pursue specialization in fabrication and fitting of custom-made ocular prosthesis and fitting of all types of contact lenses. She worked as an optometrist in some renowned eye institutes for a couple of years.
An ocularist who is proficient in fabrication & fitting of a custom-made ocular prosthesis. Also looks after fitting of all types of contact lenses. She feels it is her duty to give her best possible to provide better cosmesis and confidence in the person who has unfortunately lost his/her eye in case of injury, infections or by birth defects. She is doing research for developing a more précised custom-made ocular prosthesis, for example, lightweight custom made ocular prosthesis.
Areas of interest: Complex strabismus surgeries, pediatric cataracts and glaucoma, screening and laser treatment of retinopathy of prematurity, management of various syndromic babies, children with cerebral palsy and management of various pediatric eye cancers in children like retinoblastoma. He also runs a rehabilitative programmed for children with low vision.

Dr. Ashish Doshi (A caring eye surgeon) is devoted to the welfare of children and the health of their eyes. He received his medical degree from the prestigious Seth GS Medical College and KEM Hospital and Masters of Surgery in Ophthalmology from BJ medical college, Ahmedabad. He had further training in Pediatric Ophthalmology – Retinopathy of Prematurity from L V Prasad Eye hospital, Hyderabad. He is an active life member of many prominent organizations like All India Ophthalmic Society, Strabismological society of India, Gujarat Ophthalmic Society and many others. He has authored numerous scientific papers in various international and national journals. He has received three gold medals for best papers in various conferences. He is regularly invited to speak at various CME (continuing Medical Education programs) for promotion of children’s eye care. He also has a yearlong training programme in pediatric ophthalmology under him for upcoming pediatric ophthalmologists.
